What are QPR & MHFA?

Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention and Mental Health First Aid are evidence based trainings that improve ability to respond to mental health crises and seek help. They SAVE LIVES.

Mental Health First Aid: A 6 hour training by our local instructor, Connie Wethern, to prepare participants to respond to and share resources for a variety of mental health conditions. Training can be split across multiple days to accommodate community or organization needs.

Questions, Persuade, Refer: A 2 hour training by our local instructor, Alissa Kuka, that prepares gatekeepers to recognize the signs of suicide, ask the right questions and seek help.

What we do:

In 2020 the coalition received a grant to certify our two local instructors: one for QPR & one for MHFA. With these trainers, we are continually offering low cost training to Valley County and surrounding areas that are interested.

We routinely host open community trainings and will work with organizations to schedule staff-wide and open trainings based on your needs.
