QPR Suicide Prevention Trainings
12% of Valley County youth contemplated suicide in the past year and 6% actively attempted it. 40% felt depressed or sad most days of the year. Montana is consistently in the top five states for suicide. There is a problem and there are ways prevent it.
QPR is an efficacious training that prepares participants to address suicidal crisis situation and save lives. Learn more at the QPR Institute Website here.
The Valley CARE Coalition is working hard to bring our community QPR training and wants to emphasize that no matter who you are, it is relevant and helpful to be trained. We are excited to have received an ESAA Grant to get Glasgow based trainers certified and will be organizing free trainings for the community going forward.
Mental Health First Aid Trainings
A very important part of wellness is mental health and we believe everyone benefits from knowing how to help one another and respond to emergencies. Mental Health First Aid training prepares individuals to respond to a variety of mental health situations and raises awareness about ability to treat and find hope with mental health. Check out their website and philosophy here.
We are very lucky to also have funding to certify a localized MHFA trainer in Glasgow! Once that process is complete, we are excited to bring free and discounted MHFA trainings to the community.
