VALLEY C.A.R.E. COALITION
We are a group of community organizations and volunteers working together to target specific health needs in Valley County:
mental health, substance use, nutrition, physical activity

MISSION
​To facilitate positive changes that reduce stigma and raise awareness around behavioral health; and to further connect or improve upon Valley County resources for achieving wellness to the benefit of its community members.

A healthier Valley County, with full understanding of accessible resources and universal opportunity to achieve wellness in every capacity.

Coordination: all voices and perspectives are necessary to make effective change

Accessibility to Resources: equal and sustainable access to resources is essential for Valley County to reach its full wellness potential

Education: awareness and the ability to make informed choices is essential for individual ability to thrive

The steering committee is made up of a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and representatives from our Member Organizations shown below.

The Steering Committee attends monthly meetings and provides general oversight for the coalition as well as resources and guidance for activities.

MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS
Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center, Irle School PTO, Valley County Health Department, Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital, Head Start, Glasgow Police Department.
ACTION GROUPS.
Action groups work on specific goals or projects. They are made up of employees from member organizations and community volunteers that share our goals. There are two primary action groups:
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
ACTION GROUP
The Behavioral Health Action Group is working on projects to reduce substance use and improve mental health in Valley County. ​

The Physical Activity and Nutrition Action Group is working to improve nutrition and increase physical activity in Valley County through education and improving accessibility.
